Simulation Turku Style MMU Nursing Trip

The fun continues in Turku in Finland with a tour of the university simulation suite. Quite impressive in terms of scope even has a scrub area and theatre which all nursing students are taught in. Range of high fidelity equipment not as developed as ours and it will be interesting to see how they receive the presentation on simulation preparation and debrief tomorrow.

MMU Department of Nursing Goes Global

The Department has branched out this week and are participating in a visit to Turku Finland. The University of Applied Sciences is hosting their annual international week where they invite lecturers from abroad to present to their students from the Health and Well being Faculty.

Myself and Stuart Taylor have the privilege of travelling to Finland to present to the students and the themes this year are leadership and management and clinical skills.

Stuart has just delivered an inspiring presentation on Lean Management entitled Concrete, Lego and Drugs. I think some of the content may have got a little lost in the cultural differences between us but it was well received nonetheless.

The students have presented some of their posters developed as part of their course and there was some excellent work on display.

We have been treated to a range of interesting and informative presentations and more to follow tomorrow.

Follow the blog to find out what we are up to over the week.
